What Is
Ornamental Expressionism?

Ornamental Expressionism is a contemporary approach to painting in which ornament becomes structure rather than decoration.

The human presence does not dominate the canvas — it emerges from rhythmic systems of color, texture, and repetition.

The face is no longer defined by contour.
Color constructs tension.
Surface generates depth.

Form appears and dissolves within an ornamental field charged with emotional intensity.

This is not the depiction of a subject.

It is the construction of presence.

Contemporary Ornamental expressionism Paintings by Dmitry Spiros

Art is not decoration.
It is structure, memory, and presence.

My paintings are created through layered surface and rhythmic construction of color.
